360°

a dance performance by 12H Dance/ Moonsuk Choi & Yamila Khodr

Based on their personal migration stories, four dancers deal with topics of new beginnings, uprooting and adaptation processes. Who are we, where do we come from, what do we leave behind? It is a search full of obstacles and questions, between hope and disappointment, memory and dreams, south and north, east and west. Always on the way in between. A constant journey, a life in transit.

It is a game of positioning, of changing directions and relationships. Always new formations that demand a mutual reaction. Come to the silence. Stop. Chopped mechanical movements alternate with fast phrases and slow motion. Everyday movements are transformed into a complex choreographic dance vocabulary, accompanied by the atmospheric electronic soundscape of Albrecht Ziepert.

12 hours: That’s the 12 hour time difference between South Korea and Argentina.

360°: This is an eternal circle, a constant movement, a wheel that keeps turning.

"The energy of the piece, the performers and the atmosphere that involved me completely blew the tiredness away. It was so inspiring and recharging. It gave me a breathing out feeling and release of all the emotion that I was holding inside. Beautiful thoughts and positivity can be transmitted through out movement! It was amazing! Those were the words that I kept repeating to myself after watching 360° by 12H Dance / Moonsuk Choi und Yamila Khodr at Uferstudios Für Zeitgenössischen Tanz."
